Chapter 512 - "What have you done to this house?" (1)

Fang Jingyuan was drinking sesame paste while she puffed up her cheeks and said, “My brother slipped and said that Xiang Peng likes men. Do think Tong Zhenzhen know that?”

Tong Xuelu shook her head. “I have no idea. But don’t go blabbing about this outside.”

On matters like these, unless they were able to catch the guy in the act, it very well might backfire on them.

Fang Jingyuan, “Don’t worry. I am good at keeping secrets. I never spill the beans on things that I shouldn’t! Oh right, my brother’s arranged date failed again a couple of days ago. Do you think he will ever find a wife?”

Tong Xuelu, “……” Are you sure that you are good at keeping secrets?

After Fang Jingyuan had taken off, Tong Xuelu went over to the study and told the two brothers about Tong Zhenzhen.

She told them an abbreviated version of the story. “Tong Zhenzhen really hates me right now. She would not dare to target me. I worry that they will target you.”

Tong Jiaxin’s hands formed into fists. “If she dares to come, I will punch her with my fist!”

Xiao Mianmian, too, waved her fist and said in her milky voice, “Mianmian will beat her up!”

Tong Xuelu, “Don’t take this matter lightly. If she hires someone to stop you on your way to or from school, you just might not be able to fend them off. Do come home with your schoolmates starting tomorrow. And don’t stay out too late. You hear me?”

Xiao Jiaming nodded. “Yeha, I get you. I will come home straight from school.”

Tong Xuelu nodded in satisfaction and looked over at Tong Jiaxin.

Tong Jiaxin scratched his head weakly. “But, Big Sister, are we going to spend the rest of our lives like this?”

Just going from home to school and back day after day. That sounded so boring.

The weather was cold right now. Which was why he’d come home right away after school to stay in the warm indoors. But as the temperature warmed up, he had made plans with his schoolmates to go fishing together.

Tong Xuelu said, “You need to do this for at least the next 6 months.”

She needed to figure something out to take care of Tong Zhenzhen within the next 6 months. It would otherwise post too much threat for her siblings.

Tong Jiaxin thought about it some and nodded. “Oh, alright. But, Big Sister, can I have some hot and sour rice noodles?”

Tong Xuelu rolled her eyes, “You sure know how to take advantage of the situation. Alright, I’ll go make some for you guys.”

Tong Jiaxin leaped up in joy. His mouth cracked open. “Don’t worry, Big Sister. I promise I’ll come straight home after school!”

Walking into the kitchen, Tong Xuelu pulled out some potato starch noodles from the wooden cabinet.

She had these made in advance. That way she could just cook them whenever they want to have hot and spicy noodles.

She then made the sauce with red hot chili oil, ginger, green onion, garlic, pepper, soy sauce, and salt. She then minced the pork and fried them in bean paste.

Mixing the fried pork and sauce with the noodles and sprinkling some green onions, cilantro, and capers and the hot and sour noodles were done.

Tong Jiaxin had been waiting to one side, drooling like a hungry cat for a while now. His eyes lingered on the stove top longingly and salvia almost pooled on the floor.

He didn’t even care if the noodles would burn his palette. He grabbed a bowl and dashed.

Hot and sour noodles are spicy, numbing and aromatic. They were sour and not overly filling. They were suitable for any and all seasons.

Tong Jiaxin slurped on the noodles and finished more than half a bowl in no time.

Wuwuwu, that was too delicious!

Who cares about fishing if he could have a bowl of hot and spicy noodles every day.

Tong Zhenzhen was in distress right now.

Staring at Xiang Peng, she asked, “What is it that you want me to do now?”
